Issue 14: Discover how schools are using this new trick, how the power of belief transformed Nike, and what Microsoft is planning next💡
Schools can save millions of dollar by doing this…
😱In many classrooms, math (anxiety…🤪) leads to significant struggles with complex calculations. Students often feel overwhelmed by numerous topics like algebra and unable to keep up, affecting their overall academic performance.
📉This was particularly true for one of the many classes, where students dreaded math, leading to poor results and low self-confidence.
👩🏫Determined to make a change, a dedicated math teacher decided to adopt a new approach, believing to make learning more engaging.
📐By infusing traditional lessons with dynamic interactive & fun elements, she hoped to turn students' fear of numbers into enthusiasm and improve their math skills.
🎮She integrated game-like elements into math lessons, creating point-based challenges where students earned rewards and advanced through levels in the illusion to make proactive classroom.
🤓Excitement filled the air as students eagerly participated in math games, hoping to conquer each level.
😕However, despite these activities, performance showed little improvement over several months. Students enjoyed the games, but their math skills remained stagnant.
🤔Doubts began to creep in, questioning if these game-like elements were truly the right solution. The initial excitement started to wane, and the classroom's dynamic energy began to fade.
💡Refusing to give up, the teacher decided to refine her approach. She introduced personalized game levels tailored to each student's needs and focused on specific calculation skills. Real-time feedback and adaptive challenges were incorporated, matching students' learning paces and making the games more effective.
🌟This strategic pivot reignited hope, as students found the challenges more relevant and rewarding.
📅 Through persistent efforts and continuous adjustments, the teacher witnessed a remarkable transformation. Calculation skills began to improve steadily. By the end of the school year, math scores had increased by 35%, and overall confidence in the subject soared.
🚀The classroom saw an average improvement of 40%, demonstrating the power of gamification combined with thoughtful customization and persistence. The once-doubtful students now approached math with excitement and confidence.
🔍A teacher successfully used gamification to turn students' fear of math into enthusiasm, significantly improving their calculation skills and academic performance. This highlights the transformative potential of innovative teaching methods in education.
💵Using these gamification techniques, schools can enhance student engagement, efficiency, and quality of education. This approach improves resource utilization and streamlines administrative tasks, leading to better educational outcomes and SAVING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!!!

From the Vault

🎨Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student at Portland State University, designed the iconic Nike "Swoosh" logo.
💰For her work, Nike initially paid her just $35, equivalent to $206 in 2015. The Swoosh made its debut on June 18, 1971, and was registered with the U.S. Patent Office on January 22, 1974.
📈Davidson's journey with Nike didn't end with a single payment. In a revelation to Rovell in 2016, Davidson disclosed that she hadn't cashed in a single share of the original stock Nike had awarded her. Over the years, Nike's stock split six times between 1990 and 2015, transforming her initial 500 shares into a staggering 32,000.
💼Fast forward to June 28, 2023, and the closing share price of Nike stock stood at an impressive $113.03. At this valuation, Davidson's 32,000 shares were worth a remarkable $3,616,960.
🌟Her story serves as a testament to the power of belief in one's work and the potential for unexpected rewards to unfold over time.
